"An ancient Jewish proverb goes: When man tries to think, God bursts into laughter." I can well imagine that. However, I think he finds that branch of human endeavor called poetry particularly laughable and we find it a unique testimony to human uniqueness or humanity.
Man tries to think like a creator when he composes poetry; he tries to think about love, about joy, about sorrow, about faith. These four cornerstones merge into an unbroken whole in my mind.
I can't possibly read apart these fundamentals of poetry like people read apart mail at the post office. I find these four: love, sorrow, joy, and faith, usually mixed together in the bowl of poetry.
I'm going to show you some poems, even though I know very well that when man tries to think, God bursts into laughter, but isn't it more noble, when everything is upside down, to amuse God than to amuse the devil?
