Reverend Björn í Laufási is one of our best-known hymn writers. He was one of the poets on the committee that compiled the 1886 Psalm Book, a landmark work in Icelandic literature.
Bolli Gústavsson, the consecrated bishop of Hólar, has collected Björn's poems in This Book. It turns out that the poet's subject matter has been varied and he seems to have often written for his own pleasure or for his own amusement. It is no secret that he had a lot of history on his mind when he wrote with a strong desire for freedom and sometimes in a spirit of struggle and struggle. In addition, he was a remarkably clever and prolific letter writer. From the letters of Reverend Björn and other sources, Bolli has compiled and written his story and mentions the Resurrection Poet.
