A poem by Sigurður Bjarnason. Snæbjörn Jónsson writes the foreword.
Sigurður Bjarnason was born on April 8, 1841, in Tunga, Vatnsnes, the son of the couple Bjarni Sigurðsson and Náttfríður Markúsdóttir. She was the daughter of Markús Arngrímsson, a lawyer in Reykjavík and Torfastöðir in Miðfjörður, and he was the son of Sigurður Ólafsson and Þorbjörg Höskuldsdóttir in Katadalur in Vatnsnes. Both Bjarni and his father Sigurður were well-known poets, and Sigurður Bjarnason has thus been considered a poet by tradition.
