Light Refraction. Awakening Poem by Kristján Kristmundsson.
Kristján Kristmundsson was born in Þjóðólfstunga in Bolungarvík in November 1908, the son of Kristmund Snæbjörnsson, a farmer who lived there, and his wife Anna Jónasdóttir from Svansvík near Ísafjarðardjúp. They previously lived in Skálavík.
Kristján moved to Reykjavík in 1920 and has lived there ever since. He is married to Kristín Lilja Hannibalsdóttir from Önundarfjörður and they have six grown children.
Early on, Kristján had a great interest in woodworking, although other things would become his main occupation. For the first half of his life, he worked equally as a carpenter and a shopkeeper. In 1948, he bought the shop Nova on Barónsstígur in Reykjavík and has worked there ever since.
Over two decades ago, a turning point occurred in Kristján's life that led his mind and actions to a living faith, and he hopes that these poems might provoke some to reflect on the eternal journey of generations. (Cover text).
