Tryggvi Ólafsson is one of the most well-known living Icelandic artists. After studying at the Reykjavík School of Fine Arts and Crafts, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. He has lived there for almost five decades, working on his art and also teaching at the academy.
Tryggvi's paintings reflect his life experiences and opinions; he has created his own visual world that contains quotes from myths, homesickness, memories, reflections on the world and the fate of humans.
