María Kristín Stephensen. Born at Möðruvellir in Hörgárdalur on September 20, 1883, died at Vejle Sanatorium on January 17, 1907, buried in Akureyri on March 25, 1907.
This is a fine copy. Signed by the couple Anna and Stephán Stephensen to Ingólfur Gíslason, the district physician.

María Kristín Stephensen was the daughter of naturalist Þorvaldur Thoroddsen and Halldóra Kristjánsdóttir and was born in Möðruvellir.
She was given a few weeks later to Anna Sigríður Pálsdóttir Melsteð and Stephán Stephensen, a commission agent in Akureyri. The couple were well-off and childless and raised Maria in a loving and affectionate environment. Maria studied piano in Reykjavík and considered further studies abroad, but fell ill with pleurisy and later tuberculosis and died in January 1907.
