Reumert, one of the greatest Danish actors of the last century, was married to an Icelandic woman, Anna Borg. She was also an actress at the Royal Theatre for decades. Anna was the daughter of Stefanía Guðmundsdóttir, the leading Icelandic actress of the first half of the last century. Anna died in a plane crash at Fornebu Airport in Oslo in 1963, after a distinguished career in Danish theatre.
The Reumerts always had a strong connection to Iceland, coming here often and playing guest performances that attracted a lot of attention. In addition, they were often invited and had paved the way for Icelandic artists in Copenhagen.
