Abraham's son. Abraham begat Isaac,
Isaac begat Jacob,
Jacob begot Judah and his brothers.
Judah begot Perez and Sarah by Tamar,
Perez begat Hezron,
Hezron begat Ram,
Ram begat Amminadab,
Amminadab begat Nahshon,
Nahshon begat Salmon,
Salmon begat Boaz by Rahab,
and Boaz begat Obed by Ruth.
Obed begot Jesse,
and Jesse begat David the king.
David begot Solomon from the wife of Uriah,
Solomon begat Rehoboam,
Rehoboam begat Abijah,
Abijah begat Asaph,
Asaph begat Jehoshaphat,
Jehoshaphat begat Jehoram,
Joram begat Uzziah,
Uzziah begat Jotham,
Jotham begat Ahaz,
Ahaz begat Hezekiah,
Hezekiah begat Manasseh,
Manasseh begat Amos,
Amos begat Josiah.
Josiah begot Jeconiah and his brothers at the time
the exile to Babylon.
After the Babylonian exile, Jeconiah fathered Shealtiel,
Shealtiel begat Zerubbabel,
Zerubbabel begat Abiud,
Abiud begat Eliakim,
Eliakim begat Azor,
Azor begat Zadok,
Zadok begat Achim,
Achim begat Eliud,
Eliud begat Eleazar,
Eleazar begat Matthan,
Matthan begat Jacob,
and Jacob begat Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
Thus, there are a total of fourteen generations from Abraham to David, fourteen generations from David until the exile to Babylon, and fourteen generations from the exile to Christ.
