quickly give him the floor
about the work of Magnús Friðriksson:
"Magnús was a pioneer
for a long time in trade and agricultural matters. He
was one of the founders of the Commercial Association
Dalaisýsla 1886 and
was in its control for the longest time,
while it was in existence, and
stood at the forefront of the district's transportation issues. In agricultural matters
he stood still
leading in class. Under one
and local agricultural societies were
founded, he became a promoter
that the agricultural association
would be established in his district, and
when there was a connection
established for Dala- and Snæfellsnes County
1914, he was
one of the founders. On the next
year he became its chairman
and it was uninterrupted for the next
thirty years apart. He ruled
then all cultivation itself, but
The Farmers' Association of Dala and
Snæfellsnes County was represented in
