The murder at Laugalækur. Compiled by Þorsteinn B. Einarsson.
On January 18, 1968, Gunnar S. Tryggvason, a taxi driver, was murdered in his car on Laugalækur in Laugarnes. The investigation that followed immediately became very extensive, without any solid traces of the murderer being found. However, it soon became clear that Gunnar had been murdered with an extremely rare gun. More than a year after the investigation of the case began, the murder gun was found by complete coincidence. As a result of that encounter, a man was arrested and suspected of the murder. The book attempts to shed light on the chain of events that led to the man's arrest and why he was charged with this atrocity. (Bókatíðindi 2007).
