The martyr's story of Sir Jón Magnússon. Sigfús Blöndal was in charge of the publication.
Píslarsaga is a work written by Reverend Jón Magnússon (1610-1696) and it deals with the terrible plagues and torments that had befallen him after he fell ill due to witchcraft (according to what he himself claimed) in 1655. Jón's defense document was written in the case against Þuríð Jónsdóttir from Kirkjuból in Skutulsfjörður and also an indictment against her for witchcraft persecution. Jón had previously learned that her father and brother had been burned at the stake for witchcraft.
