The first and only book by Jón Árngrímsson.
Jón was born in 1910. He was the son of Arngrímur Fr. Bjarnason and Guðríður Jónsdóttir. Jón died in 1965.
In Verkamanninn, issue 25, year 45, 1962, the poems of Jón Arngrímsson are discussed. It says, among other things, "The themes are from various directions and span a wide range, from the Arctic south to Judea, from our own days and all the way back to Herod. Whatever else one may say about these poems or their value, it is certain that they are written with great and deep sincerity, and isn't sincerity precisely what many a clever seafarer sorely lacks. When rhyme has become rhyme for the sake of rhyme and at the expense of thought, then one has embarked on a strange path."
