Guðjón Bjarnfreðsson, a gardener and poet, was born in Efri-Steinsmýri in Meðalland on March 3, 1919. His parents were Skaftfellingar "back to the fire", Bjarnfreður Ingimundarson and Ingibjörg Sigurbergsdóttir, both well-off and well-made. Guðjón was born in a barn bathroom by the heat from the cow, which was under the bathroom floor. And he was the fifth in a row of 20 siblings. Raulað yfir haka og sköflu is Guðjón's only book.
