This is the first printing or edition of Reykjavíkbrag the older one. Reykjavíkurbragur the younger one was published in Reykjavík in 1856. The first edition is said to be composed during the time of bailiff Stefán Gunnlaugsson (1838-1848) and the second edition from the time of bailiff Vilhjálmur Finsen (1852-1860).
