Rose by Sigurður blindur Narfason in Fagradal. Rewritten by Ivar Orgland. Illustrations by Anne-Lise Knoff.

In the preface, Ivar Orgland gives an account of Rósa and the author of the poem, but he believes that Rósa has fallen too far into the shadow of Lilja Eysteinn Ásgrímsson, as the poems have much in common. Orgland expresses his opinion that Sigurður the Blind's poem is more realistic than Lilja Eysteinn's and that he places more emphasis on the historical, while Eysteinn's is more religious.

The eyes become dull, the ears become deaf,

A young conscience stops the tongue,

the heart flows inside and out,

Veins and flesh tremble with terror;

The king hangs dead on a cross,

The queen's body was covered with a veil,

the mother both weary and bloody,

Mary is in tears.

As a new copy, publisher's binding and cover. The copy is signed by Ivar Orgland to the Icelandic ambassador. A magnificent edition.
