The story of my thoughts. About myself and existence. By Brynjúlf Jónsson from Minna-Núpur. Haraldur Ingólfsson was in charge of the publication.
Born 26 September 1838 at Minna-Núp, Gnúpverjahrep, Árnessýsla, son of farmer Jón Brynjólfsson and Margrét Jónsdóttir. He had little formal schooling, but did farm work and rowing until he had to give up hard work due to illness. After that he mainly worked as a teacher and writer, as well as researching archaeological remains and collecting folklore. He died in Eyrarbakki on 16 May 1914.
His most significant contribution to Icelandic philosophy is Saga tõngsingar minnar um säväg mig yttilvaruna, published in 1912 but long in the making. In it, he describes the development of his philosophical struggle with the riddles of existence from his youth and presents a metaphysical theory of reality.
