The Last God by Dr. Björn Þórðarson.
This is about Þorvarður Þórarinson from Valþjófsdal. He was the last of the Icelandic rulers to renounce his godhood and join the Norwegian king, in 1264. For this reason he has been called "the last god". After that he stayed for a time in Norway and is believed to have assisted King Magnus in drafting a law code called Járnsíð. Þorvarður died in 1296 at the age of nearly 70. Þorvarður has been one of those who have been mentioned in history as the author of Njála.
