Sea voyage memoirs of Sigurpál Steinþórsson. Recorded by Sigurjón Sigtryggsson.
Sigurpál Steinþórsson's biography is the story of a commoner who was raised in difficult circumstances. He has endured many hardships and has experienced many things in his long life. There are both light and shadows. The struggle was often hard, but Sigurpáll was not the type to give up even if the odds were against him. The main feature of this book is still an excellent description of the working methods and facilities for fishing and working methods in Ölafsfjörður in the first decades of this century. Many things were so unique that they can be considered unparalleled, and in this respect this book is full of information that has not been recorded in books before. There are numerous pictures here of people, boats and structures. Hopefully, those who love national folklore will not be disappointed, because there is much to be found in Palla's book.
