Skagfirsk Chronicle 1847-1947. Compiled by Kristmundur Bjarnason.
The book discusses human life in Skagafjörður for 100 years. The story begins where Saga frá Skagfirðingum by Jón Espólín and Einar Bjarnason ends and ends in 1947, the year Sauðárkrókur received market town rights. The book mentions most of the things that were considered most newsworthy at any given time, such as accidents, trends, practical projects, human encounters and cultural events. Around 400 photographs adorn the book, including pictures of many of the individuals involved. There are also a large number of old photos of events, towns and buildings, many of which have never been published before.
