Sketch boilers. Poem by Þorsteinn frá Hamri.
Skessukatlar is Þorsteinn frá Hamri's twentieth original book of poetry, but collections and selections of his poems have also been published. Skessukatill is a hole in rock, says the Icelandic Dictionary, "formed by the friction of stone lumps swirling in a whirlpool", and one can imagine that the poet is referring to another thread in the title with its speed and impatience to the present day. Many of the poems are warm and unusually personal, while others are more general and satirical. A recurring theme is the complex connection between the present and the past.
