Ólafur Davíðsson (26 January 1862 in Fellir in Sléttuhlíð – 6 September 1903 in Hörgá) was an Icelandic naturalist, ethnographer and folklore collector. He was a student at the Lærði School from 1874 to 1882 and kept a diary during his last year of study there. In the diary, he wrote about his love affair with fellow student Geir Sæmundsson, later ordained bishop of Akureyri. This is the only known Icelandic autobiographical source about homosexual love from the 19th century.
Ólafur studied natural science at the University of Copenhagen but immediately began to turn to ethnography, including at the Árnasafn Museum.
In 1897 he returned to Iceland and was a part-time teacher at Möðruvellir in Hörgárdalur, while simultaneously collecting folklore and engaging in other scholarly work. Ólafur drowned in Hörgá, unmarried and childless.
