This will be the only book by Sumarliði Halldórsson.
Sumarliði Halldórsson was born at Litla-Fellsöxl in Skilmannahrep in 1881. He studied at Flensborg School from 1904 to 1906, but then went to Denmark and studied forestry. He was one of four forest rangers who began working for the Icelandic Forest Service around 1910. Sumarliði was a forest ranger in West Iceland until 1914. He settled in Akranes and worked there in cultivation and teaching until 1940, when he moved to Reykjavík and took on the responsibility of overseeing the tree cultivation of the city's cemeteries. He pursued this work with exceptional dedication for 15 years.
Sumarliði was widely read and knowledgeable. He was a lover of poetry and a eloquent speaker, and his poems and essays were published in various newspapers and magazines.
Sumarlið's wife was Sigríður Guðmundsdóttir from Belgsholt in Melasveit.
