Sonnets by John Keats. Translated by Sölvi Björn Sigurðarson.
John Keats was one of the leading English poets of the 19th century. He had a difficult and shameful life and it is considered amazing how much poetic maturity he achieved in just a few years, but he died of tuberculosis at the age of only 25. His contemporaries did not appreciate him, as he was neither a criminal nor from a noble family. Soon after his death, however, people began to re-evaluate his poetry and now his name is mentioned in the same breath as the names of Shakespeare, Shelley and Byron.
