The Alphabet of Business Administration. Textbook for the Icelandic Business School. By Jón Ólafsson. (Largely based on HD Macleod: "Economics for Beginners").
This textbook was published in Reykjavík in 1909. In the same year, Skírn published a review of the book, which states, among other things: Jón Ólafsson, a member of the Althingi, is a teacher at the Commercial School in
Reykjavík; he has recently published a book called: Trade Law
Iceland , and is intended for the students of the school, and recently
The Alphabet of Business Administration , which are his lectures to his disciples
of the school about the sciences that were first called ethnology
in Icelandic, Arnljótur Ólafsson called Auðfræði
and Jón Olafsson has now called Viðskiftafræði . In the preface
for the book can refer to the two books that have previously appeared
out, and says that Sir Arnljót Olafsson's Audfræði is too long, it
has more disadvantages than length, it is too heavy, and does not reach enough
far, because it hardly mentions banks by name, for example. Ethnographic studies
Maurice Blocks, translated by Indriði Einarsson, is, as the author says, well-written, but it has its drawbacks as a textbook for business schools, not least because it is intended for children.
or teenagers.
