Poetry has been a part of Iceland since the beginning of settlement. Interest in prose and poetry is still great, even though they are rarely featured in newspapers and radio. On the Internet, however, poets and writers come together and compose for themselves and others to enjoy. And that is a good thing. The country's poets still hold stanzas and capital letters in high regard, and they deserve credit for maintaining this ancient and uniquely Icelandic tradition. (Cover text)
