Stuðlamál. A poem by Einar Beinteinsson from Gufudalur. Foreword by Jón Magnússon.
Einar Beinteinsson was born in Grafardalur on February 5, 1910. At a young age, he began composing verses and poems, as writing and reciting poems was a daily activity in the household in Grafardalur. His parents were Beinteinn Einarsson and Helga Pétursdóttir.
Einar did not receive a formal education, apart from his confirmation. But he read a lot for his own benefit and pleasure and was quite self-educated . He did common work on land and sea. He was considered a good carpenter, he did a lot of building and construction work and he did it well.
Einar was humorous and his carefree playfulness was evident in many of his poems. In 1954, Einar published a collection of poems - Um dægrin löng.
Einar suffered from severe ill health in the latter part of his life. He died in 1978. (Cover text).
