The Faces of Day and Night. A travelogue by Thor Vilhjálmsson.
The birds turn to face the wind. They spread their wings and let it carry them, wriggle out of its grasp, let themselves plummet down to the wave and stop just outside the rising wave with outstretched wings and splayed legs like a man in a parachute trying to land. Then they perhaps settle down and are then transformed, then they have become a completely different animal than this other one who has been given the academic grade of being proud and free.
