Funeral sermon by G. Schepelern, parish priest at the Trinity Church, delivered in Danish and here in Icelandic. Funeral sermon delivered by Rev. Eirík Briem, dean. - A statement of the death of Ingibjörg Einarsdóttir, on the 16th of December, only three days after the funeral service for her husband. - A funeral address delivered when her body was taken to the Setulið church on the 20th of December. - A statement of the preparations for the funeral of Jón and Ingibjörg and an account of the great work that was done in support of the national government. The committee included Björn Magnússon Ólsen, a school teacher, HE Helgesen, the headmaster of the Reykjavík primary school, Sir Matthías Jochumsson, the editor, and Steingrímur Thorsteinsson, a school teacher. Steingrímur and Benedikt Gröndal were commissioned to compose the poems that were deemed necessary and had not been written. The story of the arrival of the ship Phönix in Reykjavík on the 30th of April is told, and everything that was most significant about that event is clearly described. There are also funeral orations, hymns, and poems, and the special rules that were set to control the crowd.
