Exits. Short stories by Steinar Bragi.
The speaker is very drunk and leaves the bar with a bald, swollen-faced man. That same day, he is on an evening walk along the seashore and comes across a dead bird, a seagull. During a stopover at the airport in H***, he buys himself a coffee and a sandwich and finds a seat among other tired people who smell of sleep apnea. He wakes up in the night to a thud, outside the cow's eye it is dark. He hears a low thud and when he looks over his shoulder, at the window, the surface crumbles, the doll hits the floor; the head hangs from the body on a wire, the broken glass slowly spins and sparkles like stars.
