Tindar is the only book by Guðmundur frá Tindar.
Guömundur from Tindum was a Breiðfjordur by birth, and raised his entire life
at Breiðafjörður and in Breiðafjörður.
He was born in Tindir in
Skarðshrep 1878,
and he stayed there with his parents until he was in his early twenties
years, but then left home.
He mainly practiced sea rowing.
at Breiðafjörður and beyond, but
worked in bookbinding and teaching children in the winters.
It was evident early on that Guðmundur was well-mannered, although
he dressed so little on the younger side
years, but later many
his free verse is a national treasure.
Gudmundur was
intelligent and resourceful man
and didn't always take the beaten path
in his views. In politics, he followed the Progressive Party, but in his election campaigns he ventured to
both hands and did not aim
their breeding materials to classes or
party politics.
