In exile. The memoirs of Þorfinn Kristjánsson.
Þorfinnur Kristjánsson, printer and editor, lived in Copenhagen for most of his life. He was born and raised in Reykjavik, born in Híðarhús and raised at Fúlutjörn and in Þingholt. He trained as a printer in the Ísafoldar printing house during the time of Björn Jónsson - and participated in shepherding for the old independence fighters when the waves were at their highest and the fight for independence was at its peak. His role included guarding the Pig Farm on election day, so that good independence fighters did not get drunk before they voted.
Þorfinnur later became an editor and printer in Eyrarbakki, but ended up in Copenhagen and got stuck there.
In Copenhagen, Þorfinnur quickly became the life and soul of the Icelandic Society and also attended meetings of the Student Society. He published the newspapers 17. June and later Heima ut þæðarð . Newspapers that covered exclusively Iceland, Icelandic affairs and Icelanders in Denmark. He also published the magazine Islandsek meddelser .
