This book was written to mark the 90th birthday of Gunnlaugur Jónasson, a bookseller in Ísafjörður. In it, he talks about his parents, brothers, his upbringing and adolescence, his years as a student in Reykjavík, and the operation of Bókhlöðun, which he took over from his father. That operation became his life's work, but Gunnlaugur was active in his hometown more widely.
He was, among other things, involved in singing and music in the town for many years, was an active scout and an enthusiastic skier and outdoorsman.
In this anniversary book, Gunnlaugur discusses, among other things, these aspects of his life, his family and his love affair in Tungudalur.
