Don't let the murderer

bypass the alarm system

through my window tonight

and always keep your protective hand

over the chain lock on the door

when the addict knocks

and let in Jesus' name

the smoke detector does not stand on its own

when the fireman arrives.



Oh, God.



And take away my boredom

restlessness

loneliness

the futility

or let me die

tonight.
