West Wind. Poems and loose ends by Ólína Þorvarðardóttir.
Vestanvindur is the first book of poetry by Ólín Þorvarðardóttir, but she is one of those Westfjords core women who don't let everything burn in their chest.
Ólína is known to the nation for her work in the fields of media, social debate and scholarship. She is an ethnographer by training, a university lecturer and a writer. She has worked as a television reporter, editor, city councillor in Reykjavík and a school principal in Ísafjörður. She is a mother of five and now a new grandmother.
Although Ólína is a well-known poet, she has quietly gone on to become a poet. Vestanvindur spans her poetry from her teenage years to the present day, but the book also includes some prose, or loose ends, as the author prefers to call them.
