This is the first story that artist María Hugrún Ólafsdóttir has written and illustrated, and the story tells of the journey and stay of a five-year-old Icelandic boy, who left Iceland with his mother many years ago to live in the famous city by the strait, Copenhagen.
María Hugrún Ólafsdóttir is a well-known artist in Denmark. She was born in Tálknafjörður in 1921. She studied at the Reykjavík School of Crafts when it was founded in 1941. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen for 6 years, and for 23 years has participated in art exhibitions with the artists' association "Se" in Charlottenborg, in addition she has held independent exhibitions and traveled widely.
Many public institutions in Denmark have purchased works by Maria, and she has received many honorary grants, such as from the Ekesberg Fund, the Icelandic-Danish Fund, and the Danish Arts Fund.
