Ármann Dalmannsson (1894-1978) was a colorful personality who left an impression on his surroundings. He was involved in poetry from a young age and published two books of poetry, Ljóð af lausum blæðum and Fræ. In his later years, when he began to slow down, he began to compose riddles that were first used at family gatherings but became so popular that five small editions were published between 1974-1979.
