Walking into Iceland's Postal History. By Don Brandt.
From a review of the book in Morgunblaðið, June 27, 1991. "This discusses Icelandic stamps from the beginning, their imagery and what lies behind them; country, history and culture.

Don Brandt is an American, he has been collecting stamps for half a century, but for the past decade he has lived in Iceland and works for Iceland Review. He has been on the board of the Icelandic Stamp Collectors Association, and has written extensively about stamps, both in Iceland Review publications and in magazines abroad.

About his book, Don Brandt says: "I became interested in Icelandic stamps when I was a child, started collecting them in the 1930s, but had to come here and settle down to learn more about them. A book of this kind cannot be written until one has lived here for a long time and has experienced the backstory of the stamps firsthand. A book of this kind about Icelandic stamps does not exist, which is certainly one of the reasons why I did this work, which is the result of information gathering and observations over a very long period of time."
